COCKTAILS
PROMENADE CLUB
Our exclusive, original cocktails, curated especially for Joppa, drawing inspiration from our history and location. Slainte Mhath!
Northside
Edinburgh Seaside Gin, fresh dill, lime.
Served neat in a coupe with a sprig of dill, lengthen to a fizz with soda water (£12), or into a spritz with prosecco (£13).
A twist on the classic Southside that highlights Joppa Rocks unique location in the city and the locally foraged marine botanicals of Edinburgh Seaside. The perfect refreshment for sipping, whilst you admire the view.
£11
Seabreeze
Lemongrass-infused Vodka, St Germain, ginger, soda. Served in a goblet, on the rocks.
A light and vibrant easy-drinker inspired by our love of seafood, fresh and invigorating like a breath of East coast air. The drink you'll need on a long summer evening.
£11
Joppa Julep
Monkey Shoulder Blended Malt, mint, demerara. Served freezing cold over a mound of crushed ice with a bouquet of fresh mint.
A bold Scottish riff on the timeless Kentucky Derby tipple that some consider the original cocktail. Cooling and fragrant but boozy, not for the faint of heart.
£12
Rockville
Aperol, Laphroaig 10, sea-buckthorn juice, lime, seasalt. Shaken and served up with a lemon twist and a Chartreuse mist.
A sweet peaty, herbaceous celebration of Joppa's history in salt production via seawater evaporation, with the addition of locally foraged sea-buckthorn juice for a hit of tart earthiness. An August-evening bonfire of surprising flavour.
£13
Right of Rae
Bunnahabhain 12yo, Antica Formula, Benedictine, Peychaud's bitters. Served on the rocks with twists of orange and lemon.
Our thanks to Sir William Rae, for battling private landowners whose gardens blocked public access to Portobello beach. His actions led to the construction of the promenade and free access for all. A punchy drink capable of knocking down walls.
£13
Kelpie
Samphire-infused Botanist gin. Stirred and served up with fresh samphire.
Samphire-infused Botanist gin, house Mary-mix, lemon, horseradish, worcestershire, hot sauce.
Seasoned and spiced to your taste and garnished with a langoustine.
A red snapper inspired by the hooved seafaring shapeshifters of old Scot's folklore. A cautionary tale to the glaikit or irresponsible who fail to respect the water, and an umami-rich wake up call to your palate before the main event. A starter in a glass.
